GOWATCHIT!

Kyra here.

I think I am supposed to post today. I guess that’s good I’ve actually remembered. For once.
What is there to talk about that hasn’t already been talked about? I swear I’ve rambled on and on about everything and nothing for the passed like, three years? Four? Geesh.

Do you ever watch a movie, or read a book that just makes you sick because it’s so great? Do you wonder, “How did they do that?” and also, “Why can’t I?”
I’m sure everyone does. Even the best writers out there.
I think I will talk/suggest a few for you to read or watch. Or both. Some were books first. 😀

The Fall.
If you haven’t seen this movie, I suggest you go onto your Netflix and watch it. Now. Seriously. You like stories? Adventures? Cute adorable girls qho can’t help but make you grin?
This is the one you need to watch. Although it is rated R {Not sure how many people have a problem with that. . .} it has nothing in it to be rated that way. I even tricked Mom into watching it, and told her the rating after the movie and she was glad she saw it.
It’s beautiful, sweet, exciting, and great. GOWATCHIT!

Everything Illuminated.
This movie also just showed up on Netflix recently. I’ve been waiting for it for a few years now, because I can’t seem to find it anywhere to buy.
Great story. Very sad, but still amazing. I would suggest it to anyone. It is a little violent, but nothing too intense.

No Country for Old Men.
Okay, so this movie {and book} isn’t for everyone. It has the most ruthless bad guy from pretty much any movie I’ve ever seen. Does that sentence make sense? Oh well.
Even though it’s very violent, and pretty darkglumanddepressing, it’s still freaking amazing. I don’t know what it is about the Coen Brothers or Cormac McCarthy, but these people like dark and depressing. And so do I. And if you also do, this is one to check out.

The Book of Eli
Okay, so I’m not a huge fan of super-religion stuff, or Denzel Washington. But there was something about this movie that I really loved. I don’t know if it was because I didn’t figure out the end or because it just had a really interesting story line . . . either way. It was worth the watch. Not too violent, but still super awesome. Not something I would usually like but, I did. So maybe you will.

Last but not least. . .
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
Holy. Crap.
Okay, I’ll admit I couldn’t get through the book {Maybe I’ll give it another try. . .} But this movie was great. The acting, the storyline, everything. Mindblowinglygood. It helped a lot that one of my favorite directors did it {David Fincher. Fight Club, Seven, and he even produced The Fall},
Holy crap tho. Check this movie out. Just thinking about it makes me want to watch it. Again.

I think that is a long enough post. And I don’t expect it to be read by many. But I hope these suggestions helped you out for a movie night one of these evenings.

{In case you don’t love those, also check out Running With Scissors, Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Darjeeling Limited, V for Vendetta}

  1. *takes notes* Thanks Kyra for the recommendations. I haven’t seen any of those. (I know, pathetic right?) I’m in the mood for a good movie and since you’ve recommended some that are on netflix: I’m in.

Can’t wait to meet/see you at WIFYR.
