1. For those of you coming to the conference (June 13-17, 2011–www.wifyr.com), it’s time to make some last minute goals.
a. What do you want to take with you to the conference (and I don’t mean what novel or picture book)? For example, I hope to take an open mind so I can learn at least three things from every session I listen to.
b. What do you want to get from the conference (and I don’t mean a contract)? Again, I hope to actually be able to implement what I learn.
c. How do you intend to write or rewrite for the next month or so? Well, we all know my answer to this one–and it’s all about DD rewriting.
d. What closing song should we sing? I have two ideas so far, and I’m not sharing.
2. What would make the best Writer’s Newsletter ever, iyho?
3. A few books to read before the conference:
One book from EACH of our faculty and afternoon presenters
Family by Micol Ostow (Kyra is loving this novel)
Blink & Caution by Tim Wynne-Jones
One Crazy Summer by Rita Williams-Garcia
Please Ignore Vera Dietz by A. S. King
So there. Three Things.
