It’s no secret I love Project Runway. If you haven’t seen it, you should try it out. Every week there’s a new challenge and the designers have like twenty four hours to make a fashionable and wearable (no gluing things onto the model) garment. It’s pretty amazing what they come up. Here’s a bird seed dress:

This was a pet store challenge. The collar is made of sunflower seeds. I love it.
The other day I was thinking, we should have a similar contest (but with writing, of course) on this blog. It would be epic! Anyone can enter and we’d have three judges (I have a few in mind) and there would also be a popular vote so we could all support each other and get in on the fun. Every week we’d have a different writing challenge and one by one we’d get closer and closer to a GRAND FINALE WINNER and the prize would be out of this world (sort of–not really, but it would be good. Like better than chocolate or money. something publishy). So what do you all think? Should we do it?
I think we should.
Also. I have something to say about golden tickets. I will say it later.
I’d be willing to try, although it makes me a leetle nervous. But I also love Project Runway, it’s amazing what those people can do.
I know, right? Crazy what they come up with.
Ann Dee’s own NYCMidnight contest. 🙂
But way way waaaaaay cooler
So it would be Project Writeway? Instead of clothing challenges, writing challenges? Sounds fun to me. And a good warm up for nanowrimo… which I haven’t decided if I will do this year or not.
I actually wrote Project Writeway and then erased it. Great minds think alike (and you are braver than me :)). Nanowrimo is coming up. Sort of gives me anxiety.
Name it Project Writeway, OK? And give Kelley a chocolate bar.
So we’ll have to write a zombie haiku using only birdseed and stuff like that? I’m in! 🙂 Seriously, though, I need something to loosen up my writing muscles, and this sounds like the perfect thing. I think I’d feel super intimidated, but it’d be good for me to step outside of my comfort zone. Because I’m a glutton for self-inflicted discomfort. And chocolate. So yeah, let’s do it!
it would be fun and I think it will push everyone to stretch a bit.
I love Project Runway, too! I also love your idea. I like prizes. (I’m kind of scared, though. What if everyone points and laughs?)
They are pretty brutal on Project Runway. Nina Garcia is brutal. but this will be a friendly competition. No pointing or laughing (unless we’re supposed to laugh).
Everyone-BE AFRAID!
Ann Dee is the mean judge and I am the nice judge and Chris is the judge who makes fun and Kyra is the judge who reads the most so she might know the most.
I’m the mean one? Interesting.
Yes! That would be so much fun!
I know. I hope I follow through. I’m crossing my fingers.
yes, yes we should!
So you’re in, Shar?
OMG..almost lost my pants tonight when I saw all the S_ _ _ they gave Onya when she lost her money in Mood…I just so happened to see some of the fabrics she had chosen and they were amazing….S\the show it not over yet and I have a lot faith in Onya and believe she is still going to win….Just pissed me off that they throw such kink in the wheel of her victory.
