15 Minute Monday

I can’t think of anything to say.

Since the conference, I haven’t written. I’ve been too tired and too sad.

That goes for the blog. Too worn out for this, also.

For some time, Ann Dee has felt we have nothing to offer, and for the first time in all these years of writing this blog, I agree with her.

Is there anyone out there? Hello, Lynne! Debbie!

So I’m closing up shop early today, though I’ve been sitting here for far longer than 15 minutes, hoping I could make a difference for even one person.

And could that person be me?

PS–Yes, I’m being whiny.

You always have something for me. Always!

Your posts keep hope alive in me. 🙂

  3. I read every post even though I don’t comment. Life is good! See you Wednesday–we need to set the time and place…

  4. Don’t stop writing! You’re amazing, and I’ve learned so much from you!

  5. Hi Carol,

You’re making a difference for me. Ever since WIFYR 2013, I’ve
bookmarked this blog. I read it on Sunday evenings.

Emotional honesty sets this blog apart from others. You share the bad times of writing with the good. For me, it’s nice to empathize with a writer that I am acquainted with.

I rarely post comments on blogs. But after reading your latest entry, I feel compelled to give you—and all the contributors to this blog—a virtual pat on the back.

We have ALL learned so much from this site, from Carol, from Ann Dee, from others who’ve dropped in and out, from those who write comments. Maybe what you need to do is stop writing 15 Minute Monday. Normally you are upbeat, helpful, concerned, caring, funny, full of life. Maybe you’re just not a “Monday” kindda gal? (Though, when I see you in person, I NEVER see you “down” or, worse, “down and out.” Stop torturing yourself with wondering. Instead find the “Wonder” that is YOU. Explore it. Love it. (We all do.) And give it a MUCH needed, SUPER deserved rest: you just finished WIFYR AND the Book Thingy (your word). You just need to LET yourself sit. Relax. Sleep. Eat. Until you feel like dancin’ again ! LOVE YOU ! ! !

  7. I read them all, too, but don’t often comment. You’re a wonderful writer and a friend to children’s writers everywhere. If you don’t have anything to say that day, so be it. Blog when you’re up to it. 🙂

  8. Well Miss Carol, because of your conference I have written a lot lately, I’ve felt like I can again. Thank you.
I took your advice to do that little exercise of writing down first lines from books, pulled a bunch on my shelf and copied them down. That was so helpful and insightful.
And I come and read the blog often. Thanks for throwing up words for us.
